Mission Statement

Young Progressive Democrats of America was launched in January of 2024 with the goal of transforming the Democratic Party through mass entry and engagement of progressive-minded people under 35 years of age. For far too long, young people have been written off by the establishment wing of the party as uninformed, unengaged, and unrealistic. This attitude has led us to the situation we now face: a wannabe autocrat sits in the White House and is actively dismantling the basic functions of our government, while the Democratic Party fails to offer any meaningful opposition that describes an alternate vision of the future of this country. It’s clear that what’s needed is a break from tired establishment tactics, and a new grassroots progressive approach that actually reflects what working people need and want. Young people are the ones who will drive this essential shift, because no one is coming to save us.
